Snippet: The Vampire Diaries dolls

Apparently Tonner Doll have made the Vampire Diaries dolls too. Hmm...I think the Stefan doll's face look weird. They put too much colour on the cheeks making it look way too sunken.

Snippet: Hunger Games Movie Pictures

A few Hunger Games pictures have been release. Go to Entertainment Weekly, to see the rest of them. We finally get to see Peeta and Gale. Like I've said before, the actors look too old. And I think they should have made Peeta blonder...wasn't he suppose to be blonder? Other than that...still excited to see the movie.

Snippet: The Secret Circle

There's another tv series adaptation of an LJ Smith book by the people at the CW. The Secret Circle. Looked a bit like witches movies like the Craft, the Covenant, or some other movies about breaking into a popular girl's club. The story doesn't really grab me like the Vampire Diaries, but I'll give it a try when it comes out.

Snippet: Snow White and the Huntsman

Breaking Dawn wasn't the only movie that Kristen Stewart was at Comic-Con for. There's Snow White and the Huntsman for which she's playing Snow White. I think thats an interesting look for Snow White...a girl knight and from the other promos (you can see them here) which were released, it looks like this movie is rather dark. And did you see the Prince? He looks some undead person rather than a prince. Anyhow...there's some crappy, fairytale-esque movies out there, hopefully this one is decent. Looking forward to this.

Snippet: Breaking Dawn at Comic Con

Comic Con always seem like a lot of fun to me. With all those panels with the "exclusive sneak peek clips". Free movie giveaways to get the buzz going. Then of course there's all those colourful fans in costumes.

And its not only Breaking Dawn there that I'm interested in this year. There's a bunch of other movies/tv like, Underworld, Vampire Diries, the Secret Circle, The Walking Dead, Spider-Man, True Blood, Being Human and Snow White.

But for now, here's a bunch of stuff of Breaking Dawn. Have fun watching.

Posters Galore: One Day

Oooh...I haven't done this feature in a long time. I haven't forgotten it, just haven't got the time to post much. And well heres one of One Day's poster. Have to say, I like it. Doesn't really look like a movie poster does it? More like a a perfume ad right? I like it, especially the choice of colours and its definitely one of those less photoshoped posters that are just soo common nowadays.

The Hole (2009)

Saw this recently and enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty good horror movie targeted at the kids. So I was thorougly surprised that it only had a 5.9 rating on IMDB! I'd imagined the critics giving it a lousy rating...but apparently from what I gathered from Rottentomatoes, it was pretty liked receiving an average of 6.5 out of ten. Now that's more like it.

Overall I thought the movie had a pretty good story about a bunch of kids finding a hole mysterious hole in their garage, which made sense. Decent enough acting and simple as the scares were, they were done well. Its obviously better than some of the other kids movies out there like I dunno...what other horror kids movies are there? Haunted Mansion? That was horrible. Those R.L Stine Goosebump made for tv movies...those weren't good if ever I caught any. So I thoroughly don't understand that bad rating it got on IMDB. Complains of bad acting? Seriously...watch any one of those movies with those slew of Disney kids...Miley, Demi...or whoever...thats bound to have worst acting.

Anyhow I would say, this is one of the better kids movies out there.

Random Rants/Thoughts: Do You Get a Thrill From...

Are you a movie buff? As you might have guessed, I am. I love watching movies. Whenever I'm bored, stressed or just want entertainment, I would pop a DVD in the DVD player.

So are you a movie buff? If so, do you get a thrill from:

Going to the DVD store? - Cause I do. I like going in to see what new titles they have, even though I'd probably not buy anything. I'll even start planning what I'd want to rent out later.

Going through the library of the dvd by mail site such as Netflix? - Cause I do. I would go through my favourite genres first and then alpabetically.

I know that this topic is pretty random...well as the title suggest right. You see, we also have those dvd by mail service here in Singapore. And I was just going through its library today, adding movies...and I was thinking, this is soo much fun. For me at least...especially when I see they have movie I've always wanted to see but never got a chance to, and now I finally can. Then of course theres the whole movie queue thing, which is tricky. Deciding which movie should I watch first :)

Random Rants/Thoughts: Human Target and its guest female characters

I'm currently watching Human Target, the tenth episode. Alright, I'm not watching watching. My mom is watching it. I on the other hand do not care for it. Its just playing in the background. The story for every episode seem like some scribbles on some scraps of paper about some hero? agent? wild adventure, one after another that was somehow made into a fullblown episode. And for almost every episode, there's always a female guest character thrown into the plot, that the lead character has some kind romantic of history or has some romantic chemistry with. They're all young, pretty, fit and amazingly athletic and somehow always attracted to him? Its the James Bond syndrome! Its soo old!

[Rec] (2007)

I watched Quarantine a couple of months ago and I thought it was a pretty decent watch, So finally a few weeks ago I saw the original Spanish movie [Rec]. So which was better?

Well the original of course. Firstly, I thought it had a better lead. The lead in the remake, was a little annoying especially the second half, where she began to be quite hysterical. While the lead in the original, was a much stronger character always urging the cameraman to tape everything. And I liked how everyone was much more professional in the original. I did't like the romantic undertone in the remake with the lead character and the firemen. Why must there be any sort of "romance" in horror movies? They're fighting for their lives in one hellish day, so all the romance thing is usually thoroughly unnecessary. The original was also very well shot I thought even though the budget was much much less than the remake. So yeah I did enjoy the [Rec], all the danger portrayed in it all seemed very immediate.

That said they there was problems with the story. Like why did the 1st policeman and fireman took like an hour or possibly more before turning into a monster while Manu turned almost immediately? And the little girl, I assume she got sick because she had come into contact possibly with the saliva of her sick dog, why did it take her so long to turn? She's a little girl, shouldn't her immune be weaker? I know they tried to explain it with the Doctor character, but it was a weak explaination.

Any theories? Feel free to comment.
