Out & About: Amelia, Brothers, Fame and Planet 51

Out on DVD this week is Amelia...an Amelia Earhart biopic that looks like a lengthy borefest. Then there's Brothers a film I saw in the cinemas a few months back. I was surprised after watching this, that it had actually received a PG rating...I mean there are some very dark and heavy themes here...and the only caution added was "Some Coarse Language"...no really...language is the only thing to watch out for. On a lighter note there's the remake Fame...which I don't think I've ever seen the original in its entirety...and as a kid, I didn't even know Fame was about kids at an art school. Because lets face it, the cast then was probably old enough to be teachers rather than kids attending a school. And lastly there's the animation Planet 51.

  1. I highly enjoyed Brothers. I didn't think it warranted an R rating though although the pipe sequence might be pushing it.

  2. I'm not thoroughly familiar with the US ratings. How old do kids have to be to watch an R movie? Or is it they can as long as they have an accompanying adult?

  3. R-RATED: CONTAINS SOME ADULT MATERIAL. PARENTS ARE URGED TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE MOTION PICTURE BEFORE TAKING THEIR YOUNGER CHILDREN WITH THEM.

GENERALLY, IT IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR PARENTS TO BRING THEIR YOUNG CHILDREN WITH THEM TO R-RATED MOTION PICTURES.

Sorry for the caps, copy paste from the site lol

NC-17 would be the adult only rating in the US
