Addicted to Twilight

Ok...I have finished reading Twilight. And...well...I'm hooked. Or should I say I've been bitten. :) I am totally engrossed in the story...in Bella's world...in the Vampire-inhabited Forks. Its just soo interesting...soo fascinating...soo dangerous...soo mysterious...And now...the first thing I do when I get online is check out for Twilight news...the books and movies. I've even been listening to some of the Twilight podcasts. Its always interesting to hear and read what other people think about the book and the story in general..and the theories... :). And hey...maybe...I'd even write a little review of it here later...when I can of course.

It has also not gone unnoticed that most of the hits I get are from people checking out my Twilight pages. Although I do have a fair share of Twilight posts...My blog is not a Twilight blog. But since Twilight is what I'm into right now...naturally I have posts on it. So I'd like to share with you some great Twilight sites to check out.

Stephenie Meyer - Official Stephenie Meyer site
Twilight Lexicon Blog - One the best Twilight news site
Twilight Movie - Official Movie Site
Twilight Moms - For the non Teen fans
Twilight Guy - A guy's perspective...a pretty funny site too
MTV Movie Blog - They have a lot of Twilight movie news and have the whole Twilight Tuesdays thing going on.
Twilight Singapore - For fans in Singapore

So Enjoy!!!

Posters Galore: The Ladies of The Spirit

Now the Spirit has some pretty gals in its cast. And with a pretty looking cast...what do you get...pretty faces...and pretty faces makes pretty posters...yes? I guess...its pretty much has...well again the whole Sin City thing going on here too. The Black White and Red theme for the posters. Though this ones are just headshots posters...or more precise...faces. Less dangerous looking posters... though, compared to the Sin City ones. And well these are character posters... and since I don't really know much of the actual story... let me try and guess the girls characters from the posters. Eva Mendes is a rich materialistic girl gone bad. Scarlett Johansson is police officer or some woman in uniform... Jaime King is a seductress or prostitute or something...and finally Sarah Paulson looks like the quiet good girl of the movie...Hmm...Did I guess anything right?

Check Out Impawards.com to see the posters.

A new My Fair Lady remake

I just read this...And I'm like what. Not another one. Its supposedly still in the early stages but Keira Knightley is in talks to star as Eliza Dolittle.

Ahhh...I can see where they're going with this. I'm not saying they're really really similar or anything...but hey...Keira is skinny like Audrey Hepburn...who, as you must know starred in the very popular movie adaptation...she even has quite a strong jawline...like Audrey. Now I don't think Keira can sing either...so this movie musical might be dubbed too...So thats just perfect for this new remake...ya...Kidding!

I'm not entirely keen on the idea of this remake. I just think that the version with Audrey Hepburn was and still is hugely popular...This remake will forever be compared to or overshadowed by it...And I really do think the 1964 movie has one the best movie posters...Very Pretty. Though I think it will be cool to see a set thats less stage-like...more on location stuff...that would be cool. And honestly I'd prefer to see someone else other than Keira in the remake...get someone less known.

THE Twilight movie Clip

It seems that MTV has become the place to watch out for Twilight news...this being...the majority of its viewers are teenagers or generally youths...and are also the demographic that are into Twilight right now...so it makes perfect sense. MTV has given Twilight lots of courage and plenty of interview clips with the cast ...And so as you must know by now MTV Movie Awards preshow on Sunday had also revealed to us the supposedly first complete scene from Twilight. Does that not sound cool? I myself was pretty excited to see it. You can watch it below too.

Check out MTV for other Twilight Clips

After watching it though...I have to say I'm rather disappointed. Naturally...I saw things differently when reading...thats understandable. But one cannot ignore the poor special effects/action sequence. I did not like the whole James jumping over Bella...the wire work was pretty horrible. And what was that white flash before James threw Bella to the floor? It looks like two different scenes were fused together...I thought this was to be the first completed scene...still looks like some hasty editing work. How about the breaking of Bella's leg...it wasn't too clear...other than we seeing her grabbing at it. I didn't like the look Edward was giving Bella after he pushed James away either...it looks contrived...And Bella holding up her hands a little over her face while looking at Edward...I don't get that scene...didn't that suppose to happen before Edward arrive...or was she just surprise to see the animal side of him...I dunno...things just look awkward.

Well like I said...I had always thought it would have been better if the movie spent more time on the story...the drama...the relationships rather than the action aspects...especially considering their modest budget. And really....the book never really did describe the attack scenes...it all happened behind the scenes while Bella was unconcious...so the movie never did have to do it to stay true to the book. Seeing that...its still 6 months away or so from release...they should really get the editing work together and maybe re shoot some scenes...cause the scenes in the clip wasn't all the great. Honestly...I think they never should have released the clip (first completed scene?)...its still pretty early...and I know they're just building hype and satisfying the fans' hunger ... but it really is quite shabby hasty work...they seem to have really rushed it...even the Trailer wasn't too great...as mentioned in my previous post. Anyway...really hope they have better stuff in store. Here's hoping the movie would be cool.

New Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Pictures

Was just at SlashFilm.com and saw two new Harry Potter pics here. One of Harry looking pretty gloomy at the school corridor...and boy has he grown up ya. Even from the side he looks less and less of a boy. And the second of Draco and Snape. Cool pics. Can't wait for the movie to come out. Though I have to say I'm quite bummed we have to wait two years for Deathly Hallows instead of the usual 1 and a 1/2 year gap between the films. Which kinda makes you wonder when we'll actually see Deathly Hallows part 2? Another 2 years later? Wow that would be just too long...the kids would be adults by then.

Anyhow...guess what? I just bought my first Harry Potter book a couple of days ago. Of course it was the first of the series, Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. Yes can you believe it? I have yet to read the Harry Potter books. I dunno I guess I just wasn't swept by the whole Harry Potter craze a first few years ago when the first book and movie came out.. Sure I watch the movies...and like them too...I even play the video games...I mean...who wouldn't want to explore Hogwarts...even in the gaming world...but I just never got around to picking up the book...So now I finally bought it. Not sure when I'll actually read it though...I have tons of books to read...just lying around...plus I have yet to finish Twilight...Oh well...once I've started I'm sure I'll get hooked just like the rest of the world.

Donnie Darko sequel S.Darko

Do you remember a little movie called Donnie Darko starring Jake Gyllenhaal in the title role...released in 2001...which was a pretty big cult hit. It was a weird little film about a trouble teenager who has visions of a giant bunny who warns him that the world was ending in 28 days and commands him to perform several violent acts. I've actually watched it like almost 2 years ago and even did a little review of it which you can read here (its not great review). It was a weird film for me...with some fantasy, psychological elements in it. Can't say I understood it all...and I never got to watch it a second time (a second viewing would make things a bit clearer). But it was an interesting watch. And something you would want to check out...cause the status it has been given.

So anyway....were you surprised when news hit that there will be a sequel to Donnie Darko? I was. Like I said it was big cult hit. You don't make sequels to movies such as this...cause fans of such movies just don't buy into the whole money making scheme of Sequels...which is usually squeezing money from the original through association. So a sequel to Donnie Darko does not seem like brilliant idea to me...and get this... Richard E Kelly who was the writer and director of the film is not even on board for the sequel as writer or director...maybe not even anything. I say the set up is bad. So whats the story about now? Well it now revolves around Donnie Darko's little sis...Samantha Darko who is now a teenager and is experiencing bizarre visions of her own...Oh well...mental illness runs in the family right?

Now...even though news of the sequel...doesn't sound great at all...I wouldn't write off the whole thing just yet...I mean we haven't seen anything of this movie. No stills...no clips...no posters...It could be anything...it could be horrible but it could possibly also be good. So I'm looking out for this one.

Trailer Watch: Choke

The trailer of choke is out. Now I didn't embed the trailer here cause I think its better if you check it out at the Official site. (Watch it here) They have this cheeky image on the right side of the flash player...its the same image on the poster. And when you bring your mouse over to the girl's legs...it wriggles...cheeky...

So now the trailer. I did not like it. You know how trailers are suppose to sell a movie...Well I didn't buy into it. The scenes that it was comprised off did not look smart or edgy...There were no cool scenes. No particularly cool dialogue either. . A movie based on Chuck Palahniuk's book does not come to mind here. They should have added more of his choking scenes...do something really cool with it. And I really do think that the guys playing Victor and Denny are much too old...how old were they in the books? Like mid twenties right? Oh well...but the film did win something at Sundance...the Special Jury Prize. Plus I have read the book...so of course I'll still check out the movie.
